BIRD BOXING

The stage is set

The lights are lit

The vast lands scream beyond its hallowed walls

There is cheering and thumping

A confusing mixture that unfolds

The battle ground is laid out like a play ready to unfold

And this is my monologue!

The crowds cheer in ravenous anger

Their thirst smells of something only spilled blood can quench

I can feel them all around me

This is the defining moment of my life

And my creator leaves me blind.

The crowds hush

My co-actors rush

They hiss and snare at me

Playing hide and seek as they cuff me

The first punch is to my ribs

From whence I came flying out into the sky

The mystery of my existence

The oxymoron of my existence

The strength in my weakness

Thud Thud Thud unto the ground I hit

From whence I came

My maker leaves me clueless
