Unlucky ones

I stared at her

Her eyes full of bleak

As if she had peaked

Into the future of pain

And disdain

But her lips

They spread wide

Like bush fires on Australian lands

Colombusing through my plains

Catching everything that stood in her way

Her red flames engulfed my tiny heart

Captured it without a thought

Till nothing but charred remnants remained

And there he stands

My lover

Staring at me

My eyes full of bleak

As if I had peaked

Into the future of empty promises

And nonchalant love

Watching my lips spread wide open

Clutching my chest

Hoping to gather the remnants of the only thing he seeks.
